Africa’s First Event Focussing Specifically on Mobile Entertainment Industry to be Held in Cape Town

All Amber, the leading company specialising in organising interactive, discussion-based events, today officially announced its latest event which boasts a spectacular speaker faculty including thought leaders from across the continent. Individuals such as Vincent Maher (Motribe, South Africa), Obi Asika (Storm360, Nigeria), Toby Shapshak (Stuff Magazine, South Africa), Mark Kaigwa (Afrinnovator, Kenya), Emma Kaye (Bozza, South Africa) have all agreed to deliver key addresses at the conference. Furthermore, the award-winning South African film director, Aryan Kaganof, will deliver a special address and screen his work ‘SMS Sugar Man’ at the Mobile Entertainment Africa conference (www.entertainment-africa.com) in Cape Town on August 23rd and 24th, 2011.

All Amber’s Managing Director commented on his company’s latest event: “I’ve been looking out for an event to organise in Cape Town for two years. Mobile Entertainment Africa is that event and the support and interest we’re receiving is incredible. It’s a fantastic topic – people predominantly like to be entertained on their devices and this event is going to dissect how that opportunity can be grasped by all different elements of the ecosystem. I’d advise anyone interested to keep a close eye on developments because we’re in discussions with key players about some major launches and news being released at the event. This event is going to really take off over the next few weeks.”

Industry-leading organisations including Samsung, Prezence Digital, Fontera, The Silicon Cape Initiative, InMobi, Memeburn, VC4Africa, the Mobile Marketing Association, Afrinnovator, Balancing Act, Wild Fusion, Screen Digest, Media Source Africa, Mobile Monday Cape Town, ScreenAfrica and The Callsheet have agreed to officially partner with All Amber, illustrating the extremely strong industry-wide support that the event is attracting. Additionally, talks are ongoing with a host of leading private sector companies who have indicated their strong interest in the conference, which hopes to attract the Cape Town developer and start-up communities by offering 50% subsidises and a chance to enter the regional heat of the Global AppCircus competition.

Mobile Entertainment Africa takes place August 23rd to 24th, 2011 at the stunning 5-star luxury One&Only Cape Town Hotel on the Victoria & Albert Waterfront and will give attendees the opportunity to gain and exchange knowledge surrounding maximising the entertainment opportunity on handheld devices in Africa.

Mobile Entertainment Africa is part of the Mobile Web Africa series of events that are firmly established as the industry’s most progressive and interactive mobile-focused events, bringing together all the major stakeholders. Other key contributors for Mobile Entertainment Africa include Mark Rayner (DStv Mobile), Richard Morgan-Grenville (Supa Strikas), Jon Hoelher (Starfish Mobile), Wesley Lynch (Realmdigital), Musa Kalenga (IHOP World), Isis Nyong’o (InMobi), Karen Liebenberg (Digital Music Specialist), Eyram Tawia (Leti Games), Victor Borges (OnDemand), Paulo Ferreira (Samsung), Fela Oke (Goldrush Entertainment), Russell Southwood (Balancing Act), Honey Onile-Ere (Independent Entertainment Professional), Nevo Hadas, (/dev/null), Tim Bishop (Prezence), Justin Spratt (Quirk) and Candice Goodman (Mobitainment).
