Z-CARD® Africa, Middle East, India and Turkey (ZAMI) has again been chosen by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking, for the printing of its Monsoon Train Timetable for its esteemed passengers.
Konkan Railway is the part of Indian Railway Network, passing through the coastal regions of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka States. It is the lifeline of the Konkan region, with over 2 000 bridges and 91 tunnels built through the mountainous terrain which has many rivers. The Konkan Railway Project was the biggest challenge and perhaps most difficult terrain in the country.
The first train on the completed 741 kilometer track was flagged off on January 26, 1998, India's Republic Day, on the 50th year of the Nation's independence. This Project was dedicated to the nation by the then Honorable Prime Minister of India on 1st May 1998.
'Konkan Railway changed its train timetable into a Z-CARD® format, initially on a trial basis, in 2009. Z-CARD® India has been producing it twice a year ever since,' says Floyd Fernandes from Z-CARD® India.
The Z-CARD® timetable contains a map of the Konkan Railway route as well as the train?s scheduled of arrival / departure times. It also contains information about various services offered on the train and at the stations along the route.
'In view of the increased passenger traffic on the Konkan route, and having received very positive and encouraging feedback from the passengers and railway officials, the Z-CARD® order size continues to increase every year,' says Fernandes.
The Z-CARD®s timetable is sold at various railway stations and book stalls on Konkan Railway route.
